Hughes Aircraft Receives $10-Million Grant: The Labor Department grant is to help laid-off employees find new jobs--the first of its kind awarded to a private firm. The money will provide re-employment and retraining services for up to 18 months to as many as 12,000 Hughes workers being laid off in California.
