Most Corporations Breaking Environmental Laws, Study Suggests: Two-thirds of the corporate lawyers who responded to a survey by the National Law Journal and Arthur Anderson Environmental Services acknowledged that their companies violated environmental laws in the last year. The lawyers said they believe full compliance is impossible. The survey was based on questionnaires sent in June to companies nationwide--from manufacturers and mining companies to insurance and real estate firms--with revenues ranging from $50 million to more than $10 billion. The results were based on responses from 233 corporate lawyers.
