I was delighted to see the article on eastern Holland, especially the Delden dateline (“Eastern Netherlands’ Gentle Farm Region of Gardens and Canals,” July 18). We spent 1963 and 1964 in Delden while I was an engineer for the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Twente Air Base. We have been back several times and have maintained a close relationship with our Dutch friends. I hope the article will encourage your readers to partake of the warm and friendly hospitality of the Dutch people.
