Swanson, Rael Are Hired to Coach at Savanna

ANAHEIM — Bill Swanson was recently named wrestling coach and Chris Rael was chosen to coach cross-country at Savanna High, according to Athletic Director Tom Voigt.
Swanson, wrestling coach at Los Alamitos from 1977 to 1978, led the nation in takedowns in 1971 as a wrestler at Cal State Long Beach. He graduated from Loara High.
Rael, ranked fifth in the nation in the 15-kilometer run in 1989, has coached cross-country at Cypress and Sunny Hills. He is training for the 1993 national championships.
