OUTLOOK
Youth is a strength in some circles, but high school football isn’t one of them. That’s the hurdle the Eagles are trying to navigate. The Finneran twins present dangerous targets for quarterback Yankoff and should make the offense a potent one. Brian Finneran led the county with 62 regular-season receptions, and Brad was ninth in the county with 39 and scored 11 touchdowns. They are the league’s top returning receivers, and will also play in the secondary. Yankoff not only must fill the shoes of Sean O’Brien, the county’s fourth-leading passer last year, but is also following in the footsteps of his older brother, Trevor. Junior linemen Farris (6-7, 285) and Beckell (6-6, 300) have Division I size and could help Santa Margarita have an effect on the league race.
