COLLEGE SOCCER ROUNDUP : Hat Trick by Roald Lifts Cal Lutheran in Opener

Per Roald scored three goals to lead the Cal Lutheran men’s soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Wheaton College in a nonconference opener in Thousand Oaks.
Roald, a 6-foot-2, 162-pound midfielder from Ulsteinvik, Norway, scored 14 minutes 24 seconds into the game, then again 45 seconds later.
The Kingsmen outshot Wheaton, 19-9.
WOMEN
Seattle 4, Cal Lutheran 0--Four players scored for the Chieftans, who outshot the Regals, 18-3, in a nonconference opener at Cal Lutheran. Seattle led, 1-0, on a goal by Patty Neorr at 1:45 of the first half. Seattle scored twice within six minutes in the second half to put the game away.
CS Long Beach 4, The Master’s 1--Heather Bond scored the host Mustangs’ only goal in a nonconference loss.
Jennifer Larson had two saves for The Master’s (1-1), which trailed, 3-0, at halftime.
