ECHO PARK : Groups to Unite for Community Cleanup
- Share via
Volunteers will sweep sidewalks, clean gutters, plant trees and paint over graffiti next week in the Echo Park and Temple-Beaudry areas during a community cleanup organized by City Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg’s office.
Among the community organizations participating in the Sept. 26 cleanup are the Central City Action Committee, the L.A. Conservation Corps and Community Youth Gang Services. Cleanup crews will meet at 8 a.m. at the office of Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, a multi-service community agency, at 3200-A W. Temple St.
Local merchants will provide lunch for volunteers.
The cleanup is part of Goldberg’s “Clean 13” campaign, which is aimed at uniting residents of the 13th Council District. Goldberg’s staff also plans to organize after-school activities, community garden plantings and violence reduction programs.
