Woodbridge Leads Early, Goes On to Beat El Toro

IRVINE — Nathan Bennett kicked two field goals as Woodbridge defeated El Toro, 20-3, in a nonleague football game Thursday night at Irvine High.
The game was delayed about 30 minutes after El Toro quarterback Bryan Lefevers suffered an apparent neck injury while making a pass late in the third quarter. He was taken by ambulance to Irvine Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.
Woodbridge (3-0) took a 7-0 lead when Billy Atkinson scored on a 51-yard touchdown run on the Warriors’ third play from scrimmage.
Woodbridge took a 10-0 lead on a 31-yard field goal by Bennett.
