Yokohama Tire Gets New President, Chief Executive

Eika Yamagata has been appointed president and chief executive of Yokohama Tire Corp. in Fullerton, a subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. He succeeds Yoshimichi Hanabusa, who is returning to Japan as Yokohama Rubber’s managing director in charge of corporate planning. Yamagata, who has been with the company since 1961, was most recently corporate director of Yokohama Rubber.

* Thomas E. Pardun has joined the board of Western Digital Corp., an Irvine-based computer products company, bringing the number of directors to nine. Pardun is president and chief executive of US West Multimedia Communications Group in Denver, a unit of US West Inc.
