MOGADISHU, Somalia — A rocket fired by Somali guerrillas hit the United Nations’ compound in Mogadishu on Thursday, witnesses said.
The single round blew a hole in the roof of an army dormitory cabin, Turkish peacekeepers at the scene said.
No one was hurt, they said.
The fortified compound, where thousands of peacekeeping troops, diplomats and civilian aid workers are holed up and rarely venture out, has been attacked almost daily by supporters of fugitive warlord Mohammed Farah Aidid.
