Thousand Oaks 14, Westlake 14--Westlake tailback Jason Bedell scored on a two-yard run with 48 seconds remaining in the first half and Scott Morris added the extra point to complete the scoring at Newbury Park High.
Westlake scored on its first possession when Kevin Crook hit Billy Miller with a 28-yard pass. Crook finished with 179 yards, completing 16 of 31 passes.
Thousand Oaks answered by scoring on its first two possessions. The Lancers drove 84 yards in five plays, capped by a 38-yard scoring run from sophomore Brandon Jackson. Five minutes later, quarterback Trevor Thompson hit wide receiver Greg Aguilar with a 46-yard pass to complete a 74-yard, five-play drive.
