FHP International Creates Office of Chief Executive

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — In what appears to be a power-sharing move, FHP International Inc. said Thursday that it has created an office of the chief executive.

The position is to be filled by Westcott W. Price III, the current chief executive of the Fountain Valley-based health maintenance organization, and Mark B. Hacken, a seven-year member of FHP’s board of directors.

The company said the new office will add depth to FHP’s senior management in a time when all managed care firms are facing radical changes in the nation’s health care system.
