Man Strikes Stalled Car on Riverside Freeway; Girl Killed

ANAHEIM — A man suspected of drunk driving struck a car stalled on the Riverside Freeway early Sunday morning, fatally injuring a 17-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Tracy Duggan of Moreno Valley. Another passenger in the stalled car, Isaac Crain, 18, also of Moreno Valley, suffered moderate injuries, CHP officers said.
The driver of the stranded vehicle, Amy Carnes, 18, of Anaheim, and an unidentified juvenile who was also a passenger, were not seriously injured, according to the CHP.
Officers said the accident occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday on the eastbound Riverside Freeway near the Yorba Linda Boulevard exit.
A car driven by Michael Maddox, 18, of Corona struck the stalled vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway, the CHP said. Maddox was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
