Mobil Expresses Regret to Vietnam Vets: Mobil Oil Corp. apologized to veterans angered by a reception it hosted in Ho Chi Minh City last month to press for an offshore oil exploration license. Thomas Collins, manager of public affairs, said in a letter to the National Vietnam Veterans Coalition that Mobil has not joined any lobbying effort to end the U.S. trade embargo against Vietnam. Under the recently relaxed terms of the embargo, Mobil took part in an oil and gas industry trade show in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-October. As part of a consortium, it is seeking a license to explore a field in the South China Sea.
