Another ‘Program’ Scene
I recently saw the movie “The Program” and found the film entertaining until the attempted rape, a scene that so outraged me I am writing to the studio and the media.
The scene shows a football player on steroids kissing a college co-ed in his dorm room. When she wants him to stop and tries to leave, he becomes violent, beats her, throws her around the room and tries to rape her. Finally she’s rescued by two of his buddies. The player faces no consequences and we never learn the effects on the co-ed.
How can we teach our youth that there are consequences to committing violent acts against women? I’m furious. Filmmakers must stop trying to fulfill male fantasies and become concerned with the damage of their message.
We must take a stand and say enough is enough.
