Celebrity Photographs on View at Academy

“The Silhouette Selection: Recent Celebrity Photography 1979-1991” makes the final stop of its tour at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences beginning today and running through Dec. 31.
The exhibition will be on display in the academy’s Fourth Floor Gallery and Grand Lobby Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 6 p.m.
Stars featured in the exhibition include Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rourke, Jeremy Irons, Julia Roberts, Richard Gere and Madonna, among others. The pictures are the work of famous photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts, among others.
