LOS ANGELES : Deputy’s Death Ruled Suicide; No Motive Given
- Share via
An off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy found shot to death in his car outside a Carson bank committed suicide, authorities said Thursday.
Deputy Peter Giron, 35, was found dead Nov. 3, and authorities at one point speculated that he had been shot while being robbed.
But an investigation by homicide detectives and the coroner’s office “determined beyond any doubt” that Giron’s fatal wound was self-inflicted, Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Spear said. No motive was determined.
