NEWBURY PARK : Resident Has Theme for Celebration

“Boots, Buckles and Bandanas” will be the theme for next year’s weeklong Conejo Valley Days, organizers have decided.
Newbury Park resident Lynn Hodge entered the winning theme, which was selected from among 450 entries by area residents.
Hodge will receive $25 for winning and another $75 will be donated to the charity of his choice.
Hodge also will be invited to ride in the Conejo Valley Days parade April 30. The festival runs from April 27 to May 1.
“I just sat down and thought about anything having to do with country and Western, and it came to me,” Hodge said. “I enjoy creative writing and using the right-brain side.”
A new contest now begins to incorporate the winning theme in a festival badge. Entries using up to four colors must be submitted by Dec. 3. For information, call 499-1993.
