Industrial Sale: Plano Self Storage recently purchased three acres next to its existing storage facility in Rancho Santa Margarita, a deal being hailed by Rancho Santa Margarita developers as south Orange County’s largest light industrial land sale this year. Valued at $800,000, the transaction will allow Plano to expand on the property, which is next to a portion of the Foothill tollway. Plano Self Storage is in the 450-acre Santa Margarita Business Park, where Loral Corp., UNISYS and other companies are located. “As far as we can tell, it’s the largest light industrial land sale south of the El Toro ‘Y’ this year,” said Diane Gaynor, spokeswoman for Santa Margarita Co. “I think this shows an increasing interest in south Orange County and demonstrates the importance of the Foothill Corridor.”
