Golden West
Volleyball / Setter
When the season started, one of Lee’s main goals was moving on to a four-year college. She earned that chance last week when she chose to play at Illinois. Lee, from Capistrano Valley High School, was an All-American second-team selection for the Rustlers last season. This year, she has been playing even better for Golden West, the state’s top-ranked team. Lee had 176 assists, 46 digs, 13 blocks and 10 kills as Golden West won two Orange Empire Conference matches and three matches in the College of the Sequoias tournament.
Other notables:
* Andrea Bill of Saddleback had 32 kills as the Gauchos won two Orange Empire Conference volleyball matches.
* LeAnne Kazmer, a sophomore forward, scored 64 points in three games for Orange Coast in the Chaffey women’s basketball tournament.
* Sara Works had 17 points and 10 rebounds as Cypress beat Palomar, 93-26.
