Highlights
Rancho Alamitos finished undefeated in league, advancing to the Southern Section Division III finals, where the Vaqueros were defeated by Costa Mesa. Akilah Rodgers, who was a Times’ selection to the Orange County first team, was the shining star in the playoffs. She scored 23 points against Costa Mesa. . . . Santiago, Kennedy and Garden Grove slugged it out for the No. 2 spot in the league, ending up in a three-way tie. America Robledo averaged 21.1 points to lead Santiago to the second round of the Division I playoffs, losing to Diamond Bar. . . . Kennedy also advanced to the second round in Division II, where the Fighting Irish lost to Troy. . . . Garden Grove fell to Cerritos Gahr in the first round of the Division II-AA playoffs.
