MISSION VIEJO : Los Alisos Extension Will Open Today

An extension of Los Alisos Boulevard will open today that will eventually give motorists access to the planned Foothill tollway.
Shortly after the 10 a.m. opening ceremony, motorists can take Los Alisos Boulevard from Marguerite Parkway and drive east on the one-mile extension to the Mission Viejo city limits, where the Foothill tollway will be built.
Los Alisos will be Mission Viejo’s only interchange on the toll road, which is under construction and will traverse the entire length of South County, providing an alternative route to Interstate 5.
The $2-million project was a joint effort by the county and the Mission Viejo Co.
