Poinsettias and orchids will be on sale Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UC Irvine’s Arboretum, near Jamboree Road and Campus Drive. The annual Christmas sale is open to the public, and there is no admission fee.
Red, white, pink and peppermint-colored poinsettias will be sold, said Brad Carter, museum scientist at the arboretum.
“We’ll also have several different types of blooming orchids and red flowering cyclamen,” Carter said. “All of these make great holiday gifts as well as cheerful household decorations.”
Proceeds from the sale will be used to help the arboretum, which works to preserve many plant and tree species.
