School District Arrogant in Its Treatment of Valley
- Share via
* The Los Angeles Unified School District has scheduled meetings to seek input for the restructuring of the district.
However, it is clear that district officials wish to make it virtually impossible for parents who work in the Valley to contribute their ideas. All one has to do is look at the district’s choices of dates and times for these meetings.
As soon as the district, courtesy of Assembly Speaker Willie Brown’s intervention, killed the attempt to facilitate its breakup, and following the voucher defeat, the LAUSD reverted to treating the Valley in its usual callous and arrogant fashion.
Those who run the LAUSD conduct themselves in the imperious manner of many longtime incumbents at all levels of government. We need to break up the LAUSD, and we need new, more responsive leadership.
