Los Alamitos 66, Pasadena 63--Ryan Staniec had 22 points and nine rebounds and Ali Ton had 11 assists to lead the Griffins. Brady Doyle added 14 points and Tim Lin 12 for Los Alamitos. Derek Hodges led Pasadena with 17.
Huntington Beach 65, Los Angeles Manual Arts 56--Tony Gonzalez made a successful return to basketball with 31 points and 13 rebounds to lead Huntington Beach to its second victory of the season.
In the Irvine World News tournament:
Santa Ana Valley 73, Kennedy 49--Olujimi Mann scored 18 points and Alfonso Lemus added 10 points to lead Santa Ana Valley. Wesley Morris and Ryan VanOtterloo each scored 10 points for Kennedy, which was held to 17 points in the second half.
University 98, Foothill 48--Demetrius Zeigler scored 31 points and Sia Abai scored 14 in University’s fourth consecutive victory (4-1).
