Direct From Writers

In regard to Michele Willens’ article “Bypassing the Big Picture” (Nov. 28), it should be noted that these direct-to-video movies do not fall out of the sky and are not the eminent domain of producers but are created and written by people such as myself and Greg Suddeth, my partner.
Greg and I penned “Prehysteria,” which is to date the biggest DTV movie of all time, as well as “Pet Shop” (another DTV Willens mentioned) and two other movies for Full Moon Productions.
Since Calendar gives recognition to screenwriters of major releases, why not give some notice to the scribes of these small but highly profitable films that are the bread and butter of the film industry?
