Santa Paula Man Beaten, Robbed After Pool Game

A 28-year-old Santa Paula man was beaten and robbed early Sunday by two men he had been playing pool with hours earlier, authorities said.
Daren R. Smith was injured after he left the bar, Snookies, 371 N. Ventura Ave., with two men he had met late Saturday. Smith told police that the men beat him with an object, then robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash, Ventura Police Lt. Pat Miller said.
Smith could not identify either the men who attacked him or the weapon they used. Miller said patrol officers found Smith walking near Main Street and Telephone Road.
Smith was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, where he was treated for facial injuries. No arrests have been made, police said.
