Ventura County firefighters extinguished a blaze Wednesday evening that caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to a Thousand Oaks hardware store, Battalion Fire Chief Michael Estrada said.
A faulty wire in a copy machine started the two-alarm fire about 6:30 p.m. at West Oaks Door & Hardware at 780 Lakefield Road, Estrada said.
It took fire crews half an hour to douse the flames, which threatened the $1-million structure that houses several businesses, Estrada said.
