Eisner Speaks Out in Disney Annual Report: In his written remarks to shareholders, Walt Disney Co. Chairman Michael D. Eisner said he remains committed to making a success of Euro Disney. He also hinted that the company may enter into strategic alliances to better its position in the technology arena. On the Euro Disney front, Eisner conceded that the theme park’s financial performance has been “dreadful.” He said Disney is taking steps to correct problems, but he also pledged not to allow Euro Disney to become a permanent drag on the company as a whole. On the subject of new technology, Eisner said Disney may enter into alliances with a number of companies, such as computer makers, telephone companies, cable companies and satellite operators.
