COVINA: A 37-year-old Diamond Bar man allegedly attacked a Covina police officer Saturday morning after running a red light and causing an accident. Alonzo Santos was charged with child endangerment, driving under the influence and assaulting an officer after he allegedly ran a red light, crashed into another car, and jumped out of his vehicle holding his 3-year-old son under one arm. When Officer Derek Webster approached him to calm him down, Santos allegedly began to punch him with his free arm. Santos was freed after posting a $25,000 bond the same day.
