Anyone with a passing knowledge of the Marina girls’ basketball team is aware of Shandy Robbins, who averaged 18 points and nine rebounds in the Vikings’ Sunset League victories over No. 6 Ocean View, No. 7 Fountain Valley and Westminster. But although her stats aren’t as impressive, Emde was no less important. Emde, who also is a defensive standout, scored 12 points in the 48-45 victory over Ocean View, had 12 points and eight assists in a 59-47 victory over Westminster and scored 17--14 in the second half--in a 49-43 victory over Fountain Valley.

Other notables:

* Jessica Eggleston and Julie Adams, Cypress, scored 31 and 27 points in an 82-60 Empire League victory over second-place Katella.

* Kathy Peterson, Villa Park, scored in the Spartans’ 1-0 upset of El Modena, then ranked fourth in the county in girls’ soccer.

* Jamie Shine, El Modena, had 19 points and 14 rebounds in a 51-36 upset of 10th-ranked Villa Park.

* Erin Stovall, Woodbridge, scored 23 points in a 77-27 victory over Santa Margarita and 20 in a 101-37 victory over Corona del Mar.
