Four Days of Fun and Games

The games people play--there are many of them. But you may never see as many at one time, or have the opportunity to go up against so many other competitors as at the Orccon 17, the Western Regional Strategy, Family and Adventure Gaming Convention and Exposition.
Hundreds of board and role-playing games and tournaments--ranging from Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit to Wiz War and Cosmic Encounter--will run day and night for four days. The games begin Friday at 6 p.m. and run continuously until closing at 7 p.m. Monday (Presidents Day).
The games are for all ages, for beginners to experts. An exhibition room offers games for sale. Orccon 17 is at the Airport Hyatt Hotel, 6225 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles. The cost is $5 for a one-day shopper’s pass; $15 for one day of game playing; $30 for all four days. For more information, call (310) 326-9440.
