LOS ANGELES : Electric Shuttle Bus Service Begins
- Share via
Los Angeles International Airport will introduce today the first of four electric shuttle buses for the regular route between remote parking lots and the main terminal.
The battery-powered buses emit 97% less pollution than diesel-powered vehicles and carry 32 passengers, officials said.
Use of the one bus will eliminate more than 5,000 pounds of smog-forming emissions this year, Councilwoman Ruth Galanter said. Three more buses are scheduled to be added later in the year.
