A Culver City police officer was in stable condition Sunday after being shot by a robbery suspect, department officials said.
The wounded officer, described only as a five-year veteran, was responding with his partner to a report of an armed robbery Saturday night and pursued the suspects’ vehicle until it hit the center median on National Boulevard.
Police officials said the two suspects ran in different directions. As the officer nearly caught up with one of them, the man turned and shot him in the neck with a handgun. Despite a 9 1/2-hour search, no suspects were taken into custody.
