Nation IN BRIEF : VIRGINIA : Mrs. Bobbitt Likely to Be Freed Monday

Lorena Bobbitt, confined to a mental hospital for tests after cutting off her husband’s penis, is expected to be released permanently after a hearing Monday, legal sources said. A jury in Manassas, Va., found her innocent by reason of temporary insanity Jan. 21. She maintained that John Bobbitt, whose penis was reattached, had abused her for years. The hearing will review hospital reports that are expected to recommend outpatient treatment.
