John Morris to Run for State Controller

John Morris, a Los Angeles businessman, has filed as a Republican candidate for state controller.
Morris, 36, president of a company that invests in businesses and develops shopping centers, filed for the post late last week.
A graduate of UCLA who also has a master’s degree in finance from USC, Morris was one of the founders of Ross Stores, the off-price retailer.
