CYPRESS : Residents to Pay Less for Street Sweeping
- Share via
About 650 residents here soon will pay less for street sweeping. But businesses will pay more.
The City Council this week unanimously voted to decrease the street-sweeping rates for residents who live on privately owned streets that are not cleaned by the city to $1 a month.
In addition, businesses will pay as much as $23 a month, depending on how much space they take up along city streets. Those with 300 to 500 feet of street frontage will continue to pay $2.50 a month, while those that measure 9,000 to 10,000 feet will pay $23 a month.
The new rates will be charged on the May utility bills. City officials said they adopted the new rates to appease residents who complained that existing fees were unfair.
