A Lompac man has pleaded guilty to a robbery of a Citibank branch in Westlake, FBI officials said.
Don Aaron Lee, 51, appeared before Judge Richard A. Gadbois Jr. in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Monday and pleaded guilty to the December robbery, FBI officials said.
Lee entered the Citibank branch at 974 Westlake Blvd. on Dec. 23 and demanded money from a teller, FBI officials said. He fled the bank with $629, FBI spokesman Gary Auer said.
A Citibank employee and another witness who followed Lee saw him discard some clothes into a dumpster and enter a nearby grocery store, officials said.
The witnesses contacted sheriff’s deputies, who arrested Lee as he left the store.
Lee is scheduled to be sentenced June 6. He faces a maximum 20 years in prison for the robbery, Auer said.
