Gail Wickstrom, superintendent of the Westminster School District, will slip on her tap-dancing shoes and perform a number or two during an April 28 variety show to raise money for school supplies.
Wickstrom is one of about 40 teachers, administrators and staff who will perform in the second annual variety show staged by the district’s Foundation for Educational Excellence, district spokeswoman Audrey Brown said.
The nonprofit group, which was formed in 1990, supports student programs and raises money for district projects. The foundation has awarded more than $10,000 in mini-grants to local teachers, funded student field trips and anti-drug programs, and honored more than 2,000 students during awards presentations, Brown said.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. April 28 and 3 p.m. April 30 at Westminster Cultural Arts Center, 7571 Westminster Blvd.
Tickets, available at schools and the foundation office, are $7.50 for adults, $5 for seniors and children under 13. Tickets also will be available at the door.
