COMPANY TOWN : EMI Names Gene Rumsey VP of National Accounts

EMI Records’ CEMA Distribution unit has named Gene Rumsey vice president of national accounts to help boost sales and marketing efforts with such major national chains as Musicland, Target, Blockbuster and Handelman.
Rumsey is a former executive with EMI’s Capitol Records unit. He was also CEMA’s director of video marketing and licensing as well as its New York branch manager. Separately, CEMA has promoted Kathy Ganser-Aderman, Jerry Brackenridge, Terry Sautter and Dave Witzig to regional director positions.
* Hilary Rosen has been named president and chief operating officer of the Recording Industry Assn. of America.
* Rick Hess, formerly of Pleskow/Spikkings Partnership, is joining William Morris Agency as an agent in the motion picture department.
