HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Alemany Rally Pulls Out a Victory That Earns a Spot in Playoffs, 14-12

Alemany High rallied from six runs down, scoring twice in the seventh inning to escape with a 14-12 Mission League victory over Loyola Saturday and clinch a spot in the Southern Section playoffs.
Alemany (18-7, 9-3 in league play) is one game behind Notre Dame with two league games left.
The Indians trailed, 9-3, after three innings but a three-run home run by catcher Robbie Glenn and a six-run fifth inning gave them a 12-10 lead.
Hart 7, Burbank 2--Luis Sanchez (6-1) pitched a three-hitter and faced only 24 batters as the host Indians (18-4, 10-0) clinched the Foothill League title.

THOUSAND OAKS TOURNAMENT
Simi Valley 3, Lakewood 0--Sara Griffin (17-1) pitched a one-hitter, striking out nine and walking one for the Pioneers (21-1) in the final.
San Marcos 2, Newbury Park 0--Melissa Brecht’s double in the seventh inning ended Jenny Hehnke’s bid for a perfect game and was the only hit for the Panthers in the third-place game.
Buena 4, Thousand Oaks 0--Nichole Greathouse (7-1) allowed two hits in her fifth shutout of the year in the fifth-place game.
