Gold Coast Recycling will unveil plans next week to open an expanded, state-of-the-art recycling facility about a mile from its current Ventura plant.
The new complex, to be called the Buenaventura Environmental Business Park, will also house a natural gas fueling station, offices for environmentally oriented firms and manufacturers who will turn recyclables into consumer products.
The new Gold Coast factory will be three times larger than its current facility, Gold Coast officials said.
“I’m excited about having people in this city that are really trying to stay on the cutting edge,” Ventura Mayor Tom Buford said.
Buford said the new plant should be operating within two years.
