Five Locals Will Be at Seal Beach Volleyball

SEAL BEACH — Former UCLA standouts Marissa Hatchett and Elaine Youngs are among five Orange County athletes competing in the Bud Light women’s four-player beach volleyball tour stop at the Seal Beach Pier this weekend.
The two-day, round-robin tournament begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the final scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday.
Hatchett, a former Sunny Hills standout, plays for Team Champion. Team Paul Mitchell’s lineup includes Youngs, a former El Toro player and now a member of the U.S. national team, and Irvine’s Bev Oden. Oden’s sister, Kim, plays for Team Sony with former Ocean View standout Tammy Liley.
The five-team tournament offers a $30,000 purse. Admission is free.
