Bomb Threat Delays Airline Flights Across Northwest

SEATTLE — Departing flights were delayed for nearly two hours Wednesday at airports across the Northwest when a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the region’s air traffic control center.
A Federal Aviation Administration center in Auburn, south of Seattle, received the telephone threat at 8:05 a.m., FAA spokesman Dick Meyer said. The caller indicated that a bomb was in the building, but none was found.
More than 300 people were evacuated during the search. A few controllers stayed to direct planes in the air, Meyer said.
