NIRVANA NUGGET: The first posthumous release of a Nirvana recording is coming. A demo for a song titled “Pay to Play” will be featured on “DGC Rarities, Vol. 1,” a compilation of rare and unreleased tracks from artists on the Geffen-owned DGC label. The album is due July 5, with a special $9.98 list price for CD and $7.98 for cassette.
Nirvana fanatics know that the group never recorded an “official” version of “Pay to Play,” but changed it into “Stay Away,” which is on the “Nevermind” album. Unfortunately for Nirvana fans, that’s the group’s only track on this collection.
