Bell 3, Fairfax 1--Pitcher Johnny Moreno threw a two-hitter and Larry Gayton had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth to give Bell a first-round victory at Fairfax.
Temo Lopez added a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh.
Moreno retired the first nine batters he faced until Jose Barillas singled into center field. Moreno (7-1) had 10 strikeouts, no walks and gave up an unearned run in the fourth.
