California Attitude

Marc Reisner’s “Handicapped by Our Attitude,” (Commentary, May 23), said it all, and very well; if we don’t stop looking to Washington every time California burns up, dries up, drowns or falls apart, tomorrow’s headline will be: “Congress to California: Drop Dead.”
Big Daddy Washington subsidizes our transportation, our water supply and our largest industry, agriculture. Let’s not invite humiliation, as New York City did, by going to the well too often.
