Restrictions on Imports Eased: The government took the action as part of a deregulation plan to stimulate economic growth and encourage foreign investment, the Jakarta Post reported. The government slashed import duties on 739 goods, removed tariff barriers on 27 commodities and eliminated surcharges on 108 other import items.
