A 6-month-old boy was killed and six other people were injured in the collision of a pickup truck and another vehicle Monday night in Downtown Los Angeles. The unidentified child died of cardiac arrest shortly after being taken to California Hospital Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Two children were flown from the scene at Olympic Boulevard and Hill Street to Childrens Hospital in a Los Angeles Fire Department air ambulance, spokesman Brian Humphrey said. The cause of the accident was under investigation, police said.
A total of four children and three adults were hurt in the crash. Most of the injuries occurred when the pickup rolled over several times and its occupants, riding inside a camper shell, were ejected, Humphrey said.
