Simpson’s Preliminary Hearing Resumes Today

Attention will be focused on the courtroom of Municipal Judge Kathleen Kennedy-Powell again this morning when a hearing resumes to determine whether O.J. Simpson should be held for trial on charges of murdering his former wife and a friend of hers.
The hearing is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. and to be aired live by the major television networks.
Kennedy-Powell indicated last week that she will take up Simpson’s motion to exclude evidence that the defense contends was improperly taken by police from the former athlete’s property the morning after the killings.
If successful, the motion would force prosecutors to proceed without such items as a bloody glove that matches one found at the crime scene, and bloodstains recovered from Simpson’s car, driveway, bedroom and bathroom.
On Monday, hundreds of gawkers congregated near Simpson’s Brentwood mansion and the condominium where his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Lyle Goldman, were stabbed to death.
Simpson, meanwhile, was visited in jail by his psychiatrist, Dr. Saul Faerstein, and his former USC and Buffalo Bills teammate, Bob Chandler. Neither man would comment on what they discussed.
